How to Create the Perfect Looks for Fall?

I know a lot of us adore that there is this fun, Y2K vibe that is gracing fashion inspiration this Summer and with Fall right around the corner, we wonder what's next.  Well, the 80s are back so while we see the makeup trends go from the 90s to the 80s, it's time to remember that timeless classics never go out of style.  In fact, we're seeing a very back to neutrality vibe with skincare that combines effects to it, to visually give you the look of more glow or products that actually give you this visible look, with continued use.  With so many angles focused on femininity and brights, we will continue to see this reflected in hair styles and color into the Fall. We're seeing a mixture of trends and through the eyes of design, as a designer, it is bright, vivacious, flirty, somewhat bold and with so many elements out for Fall/Winter 2022 - there is room for everyone to shine with their own unique style.  It isn't uncommon to view full face and colorful looks on social media, all the way to natural looks with a pop of Old Hollywood glam of sorts.  Am I the only one who loves that bold lip?  I'm excited for this season ahead because of all the creative choices.

The perfect look for Fall 2022 is a combination of your confidence and comfort in your own skin, first and foremost.  The post-pandemic in California, for one, has us seeing a bit of everything.  One cannot help but wonder if being socially isolated for some time has us breaking out the sparkles and bold color hues.  We've seen luxury brands launch everything from tropical themes, to baggie and oversized pieces - I've never seen fashion have something for everyone like this season upon us.

We often see on Tiktok or IG a circus of so many demonstrations of products or swatches that it can make us a bit dizzy.  Yet, sticking with the rule of thumb of feeling comfortable in your own skin, caring for your skin and hair - trying some other looks vs. the full face of colors that may not work for you - - it is much easier to find your own sense of style and shine, this season.

An example of this are colors that start in the Magenta + Cyan families or Red + Blue families (pending which Fine Arts program you've attended) - plums, purples to blue-purple hues to coral, almost fiery reds.  Yes, many of these shades are in fact bright.  You can easily have a very natural eye look and just add that pop of color with your lips, nails or your accessories.  As for hair - we have been seeing lots of shoulder length bob-like looks and we're also seeing lots of lengths or up-dos, which always are fun.  The use of extensions, hair accessories and even wigs for faux buns and one-night looks is not uncommon.  But this doesn't mean that they are for everyone.  One must take it all in, visually, then apply what works for them.

I've fallen back in love with my blend of baby beige blond and totally enjoy that with some hair accessories or our volumizing hair mist, with natural textured waves.  The beauty of a look, in my opinion, is when you can combine aspects of fashion, makeup, accessories, shoes and bring an entire look together.  ...and when in doubt, you and I both know it - - - that little black dress can always be the go to outfit.  So, do take trends and all these things with a grain of salt & make it your own.  From season to season, chances are we all have something on trend in our closets right now anyway.

You said it best. If you show up somewhere with the confidence and comfort in your own skin - it can make any outfit look fabulous!
